I had to install firestarter(from the repo's)(which i guess is just a gui for your iptables??) and i had to allow the connection from my laptop.192.168.x.xxx I thought at first it was all the /etc/exports or fstab but it turned out to be thisGood point. I also had to put the IP of the other pc in firestarter allow list before it would let them connect. That went both ways,,the servers ip in the clients firestarter and the other way around.
